02/08/09 – Redcar regeneration to boost tourism – by Sandy McKenzie, Evening Gazette
The Project to regenerate Redcar seafront will put the town back on the tourism map, says leading Redcar and Cleveland councilor Sheelagh Clarke. She said everyone in the borough loved the seafront and would welcome the opportunity to return it to its heyday when families flocked to Redcar for a day out. Councillor Clarke, the authority’s deputy leader and Cabinet member for culture leisure and tourism, said the seafront area had looked tired for a number of years.

Areas grow and prosper because they attract and retain people and businesses. We need Redcar & Cleveland to offer a high quality of life and opportunity for everyone. The rich and diverse needs of the Borough require a complex range of policy approaches. There isnt a one-size-fitsall approach.

10/08/09 – Saltburn sees the Pros of Consteel
The door has been opened for 30 jobs to be created by Saltburn firm Consteel Technical Services Ltd. A building in Station Square which had lain empty for over 6 years has been brought back into productive use. The relatively new building needed work inside and out in order for it to be suitable for the companies requirements. This included moving internal walls and partitions, new security gates, CCTV and also roller shutters to protect the windows. As a result of this, the investment has also and improved security and quality of life for adjacent businesses and residents.
